Flamenco Club “Font Height”
History of Flamenco
The Peña Flamenca Alto de la Fuente de Gelves was created in 2012, based on the initiative of the students of the guitar classes of the municipal workshops, who were looking for a space to explore and share songs and plays through flamenco gatherings, and who had a crucial role in adapting the premises for their activities. The first flamenco event, which featured the participation of amateur singers from the town, marked the beginning of the more than 150 events we have celebrated to date, every first friday of the month, the vast majority of them.

The first generation of peñistas largely defined their character, since many of these people were not experts in flamenco, but good fans and committed to culture. Our Peña is open to the plurality of flamenco manifestations, from the most traditional to the most innovative. Besides, our doors open to other artistic expressions, like concerts of other music, photography exhibitions, of paint, etc.

The warm and welcoming atmosphere of our headquarters has contributed to the growing popularity of the Peña Flamenca de Gelves, turning it into a meeting point for lovers of flamenco and other cultural manifestations. The diversity of events and the openness to new forms of artistic expression have consolidated its position as a dynamic and vibrant cultural space in the town..
At the moment, and for works at our headquarters, We celebrate the events at the Duquesa Cayetana Adult Permanent Training Center, located on c/ Agustín Chaves González, of Gelves.
