Patio is a show that invites you to reflect on the importance of community and the beauty of small everyday things. Inspired by the neighborhood patios of the Triana of yesteryear, The show invites you to witness a microcosm where the language spoken is called Flamenco..
Joselito Acedo, guitarist rooted in the Triana tradition, has been a witness and participant in the experiences of different generations. In Patio those experiences are explored, impregnated with the essences of the neighborhood. His artistic proposal lies in the search for a dialogue between the purity of traditional flamenco and his own musical language., thus creating a bridge between the past and the present.
For this, is based on a cast of musical knowledge belonging to several generations, exponents of a transgressive seal, aged and, both, modern, with a minimalist approach where “less is more” and “finishing in place” or giving a “strike in time” give Triana flamenco a unique identity.
Joselito Acedo Born in the Triana neighborhood (Sevilla), within a family deeply linked to flamenco. Son of guitarist José Acedo, He began his training at an early age with his father and his uncle Rafael Riqueni., developing an artistic career committed to preservation, evolution and dissemination of flamenco as an essential cultural manifestation of Andalusia.
He is a composer, guitarist, music director and producer, with recognized work in the creation and production of flamenco instrumental music, contributing to the strengthening of the professional fabric of the sector and the generation of new repertoires that dialogue between tradition and contemporaneity. His work stands out for its attention to the sound identity of flamenco and its ability to promote projects of high cultural value., favoring intergenerational transmission and the enhancement of Andalusian musical heritage.
Throughout his career he has developed intense artistic activity alongside relevant flamenco figures., as Lole Montoya, The Montoya Family, Amaya Remedies, Manuel Molina, The Susi, Antonia “La Negra” and La Tremendita, as well as in contexts of international projection. Among his collaborations, highlights his participation in the field of production and arrangements for Rosalía, making the musical arrangements of the tangos I swear that (2020).
In the field of musical production he has participated in significant work for the current flamenco scene., as Maria Luisa Park by Rafael Riqueni (2017), Tribute by Carmelilla Montoya (2011) and various productions linked to the dissemination of the artistic legacy of Lole and Manuel as: Alba Molina sings Lole and Manuel (2016), walking with Manuel (2017) and For Lole and Manuel by Alba Molina (2019).
In the composition of music for flamenco dance shows it is worth highlighting Underfoot by Eduardo Guerrero or souvenir wings by Maria Moreno.
In 2015 self-produces his first album, Going, which obtained the nomination for Best Flamenco Album at the Latin Grammys and at the MIN Independent Music Awards, consolidating his professional recognition and his contribution to contemporary flamenco music. In 2021 publica Triana D.F. (Flamenco District), a project conceived as a cultural tribute to Triana and its historical role in the construction of flamenco identity, reinforcing the link between artistic creation, collective memory and territory. This work led him to star in the Canal Sur Flamenco Forum 2025 dedicated to Triana, germ of the project Patio which premieres at the Flamenco Biennial 2026.
In 2023 premiere, with his father José Acedo, I remember Seville. 50 years without Niño Ricardo, a tribute to the work of the Master of the Sevillian guitar. The project, co-produced with the Andalusian Flamenco Institute (AAIICC) of the Andalusian Government, premieres at the Teatro Central in Seville within the Andalucía Flamenco cycle and, after several performances, is presented at the prestigious Nîmes Festival (France) in 2026.
