In 1996 albums that would change the flamenco language forever were heard on the musical scene. To titles like “Omega”, by Enrique Morente, and “From here to Ketama”, by Ketama, reissues such as “The Guitar Trio” by Paco de Lucía and “Antología” by Camarón de la Isla from that same year were added..

In that musical historical context, Carmen Linares records and releases her album “Antología de la mujer en el cante”, accompanied by guitarists like Vicente Amigo, Tomatito, Riqueni and Moraito, among others.

A historic musical project, which has been recognized as one of the 10 best albums in the history of flamenco and one of the 50 best Spanish albums of the 20th century.

Upon completion of the 30 anniversary of its recording, Carmen Linares brinda a su Antología un tributo musical con una gira de conciertos únicos, which has one of its most notable moments at the Seville Biennial. The singer has selected an essential repertoire of flamenco styles from the anthology album; cantinas of Cádiz, tangos from Granada and soleares from Triana lead a program that the singer performs with mastery together with women of flamenco category such as the singers Marina Heredia and María Terremoto and the dancer Rafaela Carrasco.

Born in Linares (Jaen) in 1951 has placed his name at the top of the ranks of Spanish musical culture in the last four decades.. His first album dates from 1971, grabado con el acompañamiento de la guitarra maestra de Juan Habichuela. has published 15 records and collaborated on twenty projects with artists like Serrat, Miguel Poveda, Pitingo or Silvia Pérez Cruz.

Proposals with which he has taken his art and mastery to some of the most prestigious stages in the world, like Carnegie Hall in New York, Sydney Opera House, the Cité de la Music in Paris or the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.

Of his recording production, his most outstanding work stands out, “Anthology of Women” (Universal, 1996) accompanied by guitarists like Tomatito, Vincent Friend, Moraito and Pepe Habichuela. This work has been considered one of the best 10 albums in the history of flamenco and one of the best 50 Spanish records from the last half century.

In 2022, He received an award that represents a true finishing touch to his career., the Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts, which he collected with María Pages in the traditional ceremony held in Oviedo. And the following year, in 2023 received the Latin Grammy Award 2023, which confirmed her as an authentic universal ambassador of Spanish culture.
