In this work, Ana Morales uses the free form of rhapsody to narrate an Orphic journey that takes place in Seville in the 16th and 17th centuries..

The discovery of an underground passage takes us to the entrance to another time, a kind of netherworld that appears to us as a labyrinth where loss functions as a trigger for fantasy.

The texts of San Juan de la Cruz and the music of Cristóbal de Morales and the Sevillian Renaissance are interwoven with sounds that come from an apparent New World. In this tension between the mystical and the pagan,

the old and the new, a search appears that makes us wonder about desire and constriction, submission and liberation, loss and discovery.

It is then revealed that descending into the past also means approaching the origin., towards the gut and the earth, where the aerial gesture of flamenco takes on a new meaning in response to the telluric and the flamenco. There it is seen that the trip down is an allegory of the creative process and it is discovered that, as the poet wrote, "where danger is, salvation is also found".

“RHAPSODY. underground fantasy” is a work that continues the artistic research carried out by Ana Morales in projects such as “On the tightrope” the “PECULIARY”.
