Creation is feminine. Inspiration is feminine. Creativity is feminine.
Woman is creation.
Inspiration can have many forms and is presented to us as an impulse towards the search.
Creation always starts from the provocation that it exerts, sometimes a minimum detail, that makes the imagination fly to unexpected places.
The uncertainty of a creator always goes hand in hand with the confidence that inspiration will visit him at any moment., through an image, a music, a reading…. It is unpredictable and that is why it is so longed for..
Flamenco has one more component, What is the emotion that surrounds each sample?; here and now. As if it were a spell, the artist lets himself be taken on a journey outside his own body, in search of that moment of connection that makes a unique and exclusive state achieved. If you manage to meet her (The inspiration) you will have touched the sky for a few moments and the feat of reaching the intangible will be presented as a victory.
Since ancient times it has been connected to creation with the Muses.
The Muses as Inspirators of the arts, agents or avatars of the solar god Apollo, daughters of Zeus… the nine muses, mysterious divinities of the arts according to Greek mythology, They descend from the heavens to whisper the secrets of creation in the ears of mortals..
Plurals, unpredictable, muses embody our creative nature, our desire for transcendence, our human need to convert desires, sorrows and dreams in verses, sculptures, canvases, sounds… or you dance.
Because inspiration is pure movement, action and communication, spring from which our thoughts flow, fears and desires turned into a body, in word or sound.
They say that for the Greeks artistic creation was something so supreme, that it would be impossible for it to come from human beings. It is the gods and specifically the Muses who use man to transmit their own artistic expression., descending to earth and whispering creative ideas into the ears of mortals.
CREAVIVA aims to take from the Muses the verbs of the origin of the act of creating: Learn (Urania), tell-listen (Caliope), love-seduce (Erató), to pray (Polimnia), dance ( Terpsichore), tap (pure music, Euterpe), remember-tell(Clio), Laugh cry(emotions, Melpomene and Thalia)
The dancer and choreographer Rafaela Carrasco proposes at CREAVIVA, with the stage direction of Antonio Ruz, an exploration of the universe that makes up each of the nine sisters, like prisms of the same ancestral and collective jewel. nine pieces, nine arts that seek expression through the flamenco language, its contrast, its meaning, from its timeless essence.
THE SHOW
The desire is to show the reality of the creator in a continuous state of solitude.. The frustration, helplessness, the time of nothingness in contrast to the evocation of images as a prelude to the beginning of something, of a something that will end up finding an identity. Feeling drunk with ideas, that will take shape until reaching an almost always unpredictable result.
A work composed of a suite of nine pieces with compositional motifs and own thought. They will not be linked, but they will all be part of a common concept.
Inspiration seems like something very personal and subjective.. It can come from unusual places and is not always common to several people., what makes it unique for each of us.
As a musical base it will have singing and live instrumentation, that will be joined to composed and previously recorded pieces, to create a sound space in which flamenco coexists, with airs and rhythms of national folklore.
Five artists from different disciplines who will seek the essence of interpretation. Alone or shared.
Together with the playwright and poet Álvaro Tato and the composers Jesús Torres and Pablo Martín Jones, Rafaela establishes a dialogue between the forms and styles of flamenco, coexisting with rhythms and sounds of traditional folklore, with various texts and poems from Greco-Latin culture referring to the Muses and their arts, and converted here into sung couplets.
We look for the expression of movement in each of them, their symbols and their associated traditions, to transmit in the choreographies the essence of the nine sisters: Caliope, Clio, Erato, Euterpe, Melpome, Polimnia, Talia, Terpsichore and Urania.
From the vital and artistic experience of their mutual collaboration, which has given rise to shows like Born Shadow (2017), Ariadne. Following the myth (2020) and night. Architecture of insomnia (2021), The artists offer a contemporary look at the myth that embodies one of the great mysteries of the human condition: the creation.
